Change password – lock iconSolved

Hi, when changing the local user account passwords remotely via the Hexnode UEM portal, I noticed two small lock symbols sitting right next to the “New Password” and “Verify Password” fields. Does anyone know what these represent? Do they mean the field is encrypted/locked for some reason?

I just want to make sure I’m not missing a security setting before I push the change. Thanks!

Hi @jayceon,

The two lock symbols near the New Password and Verify Password fields are actually visibility toggles. Clicking them allows you to hide or show the password characters as you type.

That makes sense, but does Hexnode log the actual password in the action history?

Hi @jayceon,

Hexnode does not store/show the password in plain text within the action history. The action history will display that Change Password action was initiated and the status of the action.
