We’re trying to figure out if Hexnode can be set up to manage only the outlook app on Android and iOS. The idea is to keep everything else on the device private. is that possible?

Yeah, I too wanna know this. Most MDMs feels like they took over the entire phone. It would be great if specific apps can be managed without touching the personal stuff.

I think Hexnode has some kind of work profile thing for Android to separate work apps and personal apps. Not sure how it works on iPhones though.

Hello everyone, thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Yes, Hexnode UEM can be configured to manage Outlook exclusively while keeping personal data untouched. This is done through containerization methods that separate corporate apps from personal ones:
- On Android, this is achieved by enrolling the device as Profile Owner in Android Enterprise. That enrollment creates a secure work profile where corporate apps like Outlook can be silently installed and managed. Only apps inside this profile fall under Hexnode UEM’s management, while personal apps and data remain separate and untouched.
- On iOS, User Enrollment creates a managed space for corporate data. Outlook is installed and controlled here, while personal apps and files stay invisible to the administrator.
This setup is especially useful in BYOD environments, where employees use personal devices, but organizations need control over specific corporate apps.

Simon Scott
