I manage a group of Samsung Android tablets and need to stop the Samsung Daily Board app from opening on the devices. Since it is a pre-installed system app, I do not see it like a normal store app in the app list. What is the best way to block Daily Board through Hexnode?

Hello @sammyy ,

You can block Samsung Daily Board by adding it to the Hexnode app inventory using its package name and then applying an Android app blocklist policy.

The package name for Samsung Daily Board is: “com.samsung.android.homemode”

Steps:

  1. Go to the Hexnode UEM portal.
  2. Navigate to Apps.
  3. Click + Add Apps and choose With Bundle ID.
  4. Add the app with these details:
    • App Name: Samsung Daily Board
    • Category: Any suitable category, such as Utilities
    • Bundle ID: com.samsung.android.homemode
  5. Click Add.

After adding the app:

  1. Go to Policies.
  2. Create a new policy or edit an existing Android policy.
  3. Navigate to Android > App Management > Blocklist/Allowlist.
  4. Click Configure.
  5. Set the type to Blocklist.
  6. Click + Add > Add App.
  7. Select Samsung Daily Board from the app list.
  8. Save the policy and assign it to the required Samsung tablets under Policy Targets.

Once the policy is associated with the devices, Hexnode UEM will block the Daily Board app from running on the targeted Android devices.
