Hi all, we’re onboarding a bunch of new interns next week. Each of them needs Slack and Zoom on their laptops. Doing this manually with remote action is a pain. Can Hexnode push these apps automatically when the devices get enrolled?

I think you can use the Automate tab for the automation but not sure about the app installation.
Hello @haniel ,
Yes, you can automate the Install Application action through the Automate tab for this onboarding scenario. In the Settings and Schedule section, set the trigger to on Device Enrollment. This ensures Slack and Zoom are installed automatically as soon as the interns’ laptops are enrolled, so you don’t have to deploy them one by one.

In our case, we run seasonal campaigns and need a marketing app installed only for the Marketing department. The catch is, the app should only be pushed at the start of the campaign. Can automation handle that kind of timed rollout?
Yes, this is exactly where automation comes in. Through the Automate tab, you can configure the Install Application action and schedule it to run at the campaign start date. In the Settings and Schedule section, set the trigger to Once or Repeat at a set schedule depending on your campaign cycle. You can also use Target Filters to apply the action only to the Marketing department group. This way, the app is automatically installed at the right time for the right users, without requiring manual deployment.
We’ve got a custom Windows app that gets updated every quarter. Sometimes people miss the update if they’re offline. Can automation make sure the latest version gets installed once they’re back online?
Yes, you can automate the Install Application action to deploy the updated version of your Windows app. Each quarter, upload the updated version of your Windows app to the Hexnode repository and configure a new automation to deploy it. In the Settings and Schedule step, set it to run on a recurring schedule (for example, every three months after your patch cycle). Even if a device is offline during the initial push, the automation will retry when the device checks in, ensuring the updated version is installed consistently across all Windows devices.
