We are planning to deploy around 600 iPads across multiple locations. Right now, our team manually sets up Wi-Fi, installs apps, and applies restrictions on every device individually. It’s becoming very difficult to manage. What would be the recommended approach in Hexnode for bulk iPad enrollment?
Best way to enroll 500+ iPads without manually configuring each device?Solved

You can use zero touch enrollment using Apple’s ADE enrollment.
So, does that mean the devices can be shipped directly to employees without IT configuring them first?
Hi @ezekiel,
For large-scale deployments like this, the recommended approach would be to use Apple Business together with Automated Device Enrollment (ADE). Once the devices are linked to Apple Business and assigned to Hexnode as the MDM server, the iPads can automatically enroll into management during the initial device setup.
This allows the devices to automatically receive configurations such as Wi-Fi settings, applications, restrictions, and security policies without requiring the IT team to manually configure every iPad.
The devices can be shipped directly to users, and once the employee powers on the iPad and connects to the internet, the device automatically enrolls into Hexnode and receives the assigned configurations remotely.

We’re also concerned about network issues during activation because all devices may be turned on at the same time.
Hi @ezekiel,
That can happen during bulk rollouts. A common recommendation is to activate the devices in smaller batches instead of enrolling hundreds of iPads simultaneously. Some organizations also use Apple Content Caching to reduce bandwidth usage during app downloads and updates.
Preconfiguring Wi-Fi settings through the enrollment profile also helps ensure devices connect automatically during setup.
