“Profile Installation Failed” error while reenrolling DEP device to Hexnode.Solved

Hi Daichi,

Thanks for reaching out to us. You are facing this issue probably because the MDM profile is still on the device. Login to ABM and unassign the device from the MDM server. Wipe the device. You can enroll again to Hexnode using DEP enrollment.

@Deborah. Yes. That fixed it. One more thing, did I accidentally disenroll it or is the user responsible? Can the employee actually remove Hexnode profile from the device?

@Daichi Is the action “Allow MDM profile removal” enabled in the profile?

@Arthur I don’t remember doing anything like that. So, it is not the fault of the employee, right?

@Daichi Yes. He couldn’t have removed the profile. Mistakes happen all the time. Looks like this time it was yours!!

@Arthur Glad I cleared that up. Was very close to yelling at him for the mess he had put me in. You saved me from a lot of embarrassment.

@Daichi Yep. @Arthur is right. You can check if the profile is removable or not in the Hexnode portal.

• Go to Enroll > Platform-Specific > Apple Business/School Manager > DEP Configuration Profiles.
• Check the value in the field “Is MDM Removable?” corresponding to the profile that was associated with the device. A “No” indicates that the profile cannot be removed by the end user.
