Hi @shirleyc ,
Windows 10 Home has native management limitations imposed by Microsoft, so Hexnode UEM cannot perform the same remote management actions available on Windows Pro, Enterprise, or Education editions.
For Windows Home devices:
- Remote actions such as Install Application are not supported.
- Silent or remote Hexnode agent installation is not supported.
- Only basic configurations such as Wi-Fi and passcode policies are supported.
When a device is enrolled using a PPKG, the package completes the initial work setup and onboarding. However, the Hexnode UEM agent installation is then triggered remotely through Windows management capabilities. Since Windows Home blocks remote app installation through those management channels, the Install Application action fails with the error you saw.
The workaround is to install the agent manually using the Hexnode Installer:
- If the device was already enrolled using a PPKG, disenroll or remove the existing management profile first.
- On the Windows Home device, open a browser.
- Go to your Hexnode UEM enrollment URL:
https:///enroll/.
- Follow the on-screen instructions and download/install the Hexnode Installer manually.
This method is not silent. If silent deployment, remote app installation, or broader Windows management is required, the device should be upgraded to Windows Pro, Enterprise, or Education.

Isabel Lora
