Hexnode updates license usage in real time once disenrollment is fully completed.
The behavior depends on whether the device can receive and process the disenrollment command:
– If the device is online, the disenrollment command is processed and the license seat is released immediately.
– If the device is offline, retired, lost, or no longer checking in, the device may remain in a pending disenrollment state. While it is pending, the license seat can still be held.
For inactive devices that will not come back online, you can manually release the seats by marking them as disenrolled:
1. Go to Reports > Device Reports > Disenrollment Pending Devices.
2. Select the inactive devices that are pending disenrollment.
3. Click Actions.
4. Select Mark as Disenrolled.
This removes the devices from the pending disenrollment queue and returns the license seats to the available pool immediately.
You can confirm the updated seat count from Admin > License before enrolling the new devices.
