WeΒ donβtΒ remove themΒ immediatelyΒ anymore.Β
A lot of ours were just devices with dead batteries sitting somewhere unused.Β
We had a few where the battery was fine too. Those ended up being devices that stopped syncing because of battery saver settings.Β
Opening theΒ HexnodeΒ app fixed it.Β
Good to know honestly. We were assuming inactive = device gone.Β
Do you contact the user first?Β
Yeah. Usually:Β
Send Scan DeviceΒ
Wait a bitΒ
Ask user to open the appΒ
That fixes a surprising number of devices.Β
We also started checking the inactive devices report every month now. Much easier than waiting until the list gets huge.Β
Makes sense.Β WeβveΒ mostly been ignoring the report unlessΒ thereβsΒ a problem. Probably should start reviewing it regularly.Β
