Hi, I noticed an “Inactive Devices” count on the Hexnode dashboard/reports section. What decides when a device gets marked as inactive? Is there a fixed number of days after the device stops checking in, or is this something that can be changed?

Hi @harold,

The inactive device period is not a fixed value in Hexnode. It is configurable by the administrator for the portal. To view or change the inactivity duration, go to: Admin > General Settings > Inactivity Settings > Mark Inactivity. The value configured there determines when devices are flagged as inactive in the dashboard and reports.

For more information, check out the help documentation on Inactivity Settings.

So if our portal shows some devices as inactive, it is based on whatever value is set under Mark Inactivity, not a Hexnode-wide default?

Hi @harold.

The inactive status depends on the inactivity timeframe configured in your portal. If the setting is changed, Hexnode uses the updated threshold to determine when devices should be marked as inactive.
