Hey folks, is there a way to push a PDF link to iPads through Hexnode? We’ve got training docs we want interns to access quickly without mailing them around.

Yeah, I was wondering the same. Like, can we drop a shortcut on the home screen that just opens the PDF directly?

Hello everyone, thanks for reaching out.
Yes, you can deploy a PDF link to iPads by configuring a Web Clips policy in Hexnode UEM. This adds a home screen icon that opens your PDF URL directly.
Here’s how to set it up:
- In the Hexnode portal, go to the Apps tab.
- Click +Add Apps > Web App.
- Enter a Name (this will be the label shown on the device), paste the PDF’s external-facing URL in the URL field, and upload an icon of your choice.
- Save the Web App.
- Now, navigate to the Policies tab.
- Edit an existing policy or create a new one, then go to iOS > App Management > Web Clips > Configure > +Add Webclip.
- Select the Web App you just created, click Done, and then assign the policy to the target devices.
- Finally, click Save.
Once the policy is associated, the Web Clip icon will appear on the iPad’s home screen. For even more detailed guidance refer to our guide on the Web Clips policy.
