Hey, so I recently configured the location tracking policy for my iOS devices, but Hexnode cannot locate the phones if the location services are turned off for them. Can’t Hexnode track location if the services are off from the device side?
Can Hexnode track location, even if the services are off?Solved

Hey @sebastin , As per Apple’s security protocols, location services cannot be remotely enabled by any third-party software, including UEM solutions like Hexnode. The user must turn on the services manually from the device end for the tracking to work.

Hexnode UEM.
@elle_reed , so is there no workaround for it, like in instances when the devices are lost? Then the location needs to be found, right?
@sebastin , For security during loss or theft of devices, you can enable the Lost Mode from under the Manage tab > Your device > Actions > Security > Enable Lost mode. This is only possible for Supervised devices. Lost mode bypasses all the standard restrictions from Apple to lock out location access and retrieves the current coordinates of the device.
Then it is fine then; at least the devices won’t be lost like that. Thanks for the response, @elle_reed .
