Distributing iOS Enterprise Applications

expand collapsive

I am looking to distribute our enterprise app for iOS devices. We have got the ipa file for the application. Is it possible to have it installed automatically for all the users?

  • Hi @Celinethanks for posting on our forum!

To distribute enterprise applications for iOS devices you can start by adding the application under App > App Settings > Apps > +Add Apps > Enterprise App > iOS > Upload with IPA file. We have detailed documentation on the steps to follow.

Then, you can associate the app with your devices similarly to installing any regular app. There are two ways to do this

    1. Actions – You may select the list of devices on which the app needs to be installed from Manage > Devices and click on the Actions drop-down button. This displays a list of options, select Install Application, search and select your application, click Done.
    1. Policy – You may create a policy from Policies > My Policies > New Policy. Select iOS > App Management > Mandatory Apps, click configure and add your app here. Give the policy a suitable name and associate it with your target devices.

When you execute this, the end-user device will get a prompt to install the application if the enrollment type is Unsupervised. Supervised devices can install the app silently in the background.

Hope I was able to help.
    Cheers!

  • @Celine Glad, you found it useful.

You may uninstall the app using the same method by selecting Uninstall Application from the Actions drop-down button in the Manage tab.
You can even configure the app to be automatically uninstalled when the associated policy
is deleted by checking Remove apps from the device on policy removal for Mandatory Apps in the policy.

It is also possible to have the app uninstalled when the device is disenrolled. Choose a suitable workflow depending on your use caseRemove iOS apps from devices.

    Cheers!
