VPP app stuck pending or hidden on supervised iPhoneSolved

I’m deploying Store/VPP apps to supervised iPhones through Hexnode. The VPP token is added and synced, and the devices are supervised.

One app was stuck in Pending during installation and got installed after some time. Another app, Apple Configurator, showed as installed in the Hexnode device application list, but it was not visible on the iPhone itself.

Restarting the device and syncing Apple VPP did not change anything. Is there a policy setting that can make an installed iOS app not appear on the device?

Hello @douglas ,

Yes. If an iOS app shows as installed in Hexnode UEM but does not appear on the device, check whether an allowlist policy is applied to the device.

When an allowlist is configured, only the apps added to the allowed apps list will be visible or usable on the iPhone. Apps that are installed but not allowlisted may not appear on the device.

To verify this in Hexnode UEM:

  1. Go to Manage > Endpoints.
  2. Select the affected iPhone.
  3. Open the Policies tab and click the policy associated with the device.
  4. Go to iOS > App Management > Blocklist/Allowlist.
  5. If an allowlist is enabled, add the required apps to the allowed apps list.
  6. Save and associate the policy to the affected device.

Okayy got it. I have a allowlist policy and Apple Configurator was not added to the allowlist in the policy. After adding it there, it started showing up on the iPhone.
