Every time we push apps to iPhones, users get stuck entering their Apple ID and password. It’s slowing down onboarding and creating extra tickets for our helpdesk. Is there any way to avoid this?

I thought Apple IDs were always required for installs. Even with MDM, don’t users still need to sign in?

Hello @finn ,

When app deployments are interrupted by Apple ID prompts, it often leads to delays and additional support requests. This challenge is commonly referred to as App Store Account Fatigue. The recommended way to overcome it is by using Apple’s Volume Purchase Program (VPP) integrated with Hexnode UEM.

Here’s how it helps:

  • VPP assigns apps directly to the device instead of tying them to a user’s Apple ID.
  • Hexnode UEM syncs with Apple Business and pushes apps silently, so users don’t see any Apple ID prompts.
  • Licenses remain with the organization even if employees leave, ensuring smoother onboarding and consistent control.

By setting up VPP with Hexnode UEM, you can streamline deployments across iOS, macOS, tvOS, and visionOS without relying on individual Apple IDs.
