Uninstall an iPad app stuck in Updating status from HexnodeSolved

I’m trying to free up storage on a managed iPad by removing an app. The app was installed through Hexnode from the App Store, but it is currently showing as “Updating” in the device’s Applications list. The iPad does not have enough storage to finish the update, and because the app is stuck in that state, I don’t see the usual gear icon/action to uninstall it from the Applications tab. Is there another way to delete the app remotely from Hexnode?

For an app that was deployed or managed through Hexnode, the usual uninstall path is:

1. Go to Manage > Devices.

2. Select the iPad.

3. Open the Applications sub-tab.

4. Click the gear icon next to the app.

5. Select Uninstall App and confirm.

However, when an app is stuck in the Updating state, the gear icon in the Applications list may not be available. In that case, use the remote action instead:

1. Open the device page in Hexnode.

2. Click Actions from the top-right corner.

3. Select Uninstall Application.

4. Choose the app you want to remove.

5. Confirm the action.

This sends the uninstall command directly to the iPad and can be used when the Applications tab action is unavailable because the app is stuck updating.
