Thanks for reaching out to us!
Currently, the compliance settings supported for location service is to mark the device as non-compliant when the device moves out of specified geofence.
The Geofence can be specified within Admin > Geofencing.

It is also possible to receive notification alerts via email when the device goes out of compliance. Check this out from https://www.hexnode.com/mobile-device-management/help/how-to-set-up-notification-alerts-via-e-mail-using-hexnode-mdm/
Could you please share the device platforms you are using so that we can check with our concerned team if the feature to detect the current status location service in the device is feasible?
