I’m resetting a MacBook Pro so it can be assigned to a new employee. On startup, it shows: “This Mac is Locked. The system PIN is required to use this Mac.” Is this PIN stored anywhere in Hexnode, or is there another way to proceed?

Yes. If the Mac was locked through Hexnode, the system PIN can be found from the device’s action history. To locate it:
- Go to the Hexnode portal.
- Open the device record for the locked Mac.
- Navigate to the Action History tab.
- Look for the Lock Device action.
- The PIN associated with that action can be used on the “This Mac is Locked” screen.
If the device has a long action history, the Lock Device entry may be farther down the list, depending on when the command was issued.

That was it. I found the PIN under the Lock Device entry, but it was buried pretty far back in the history. It would be useful if Action History could be filtered by action type.

Currently, the Action History tab does not provide a dedicated filter for specific actions such as Lock Device. For now, the workaround is to locate the relevant Lock Device entry manually in the device’s Action History, especially around the time the lock or reset action was performed. The request for filtering Action History by action type is valid feedback and can help make PIN retrieval easier when there are many historical actions on a device.
