Hello @sybylla ,
For iOS and iPadOS devices, APNs certificate is required for the device to communicate with Hexnode UEM and receive commands such as app installation, profile updates, and check-in requests.
First, make sure the APNs certificate was renewed correctly and not replaced with a new certificate. The renewed APNs certificate must be generated using the same Apple ID and the same APNs certificate details that were originally used in the Hexnode UEM portal. If a different Apple ID or a new certificate is used, already enrolled Apple devices may stop responding to MDM commands.
Since the APNs certificate was renewed after the initial ADE setup attempt, the iPad may need to re-establish enrollment and fetch the updated management profile. For an ADE-enrolled iPad that is still in setup/testing, the recommended step is to erase and enroll it again:
- On the iPad, go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPad.
- Select Erase All Content and Settings.
- Start the Setup Assistant again.
- Connect the device to a stable Wi-Fi network.
- Allow the device to pull the ADE configuration from Apple Business and complete enrollment into Hexnode UEM.
After enrollment completes, the Hexnode UEM app or assigned managed apps should install according to the app deployment configuration in the Hexnode portal.
Regards,
Simon Scott
