I’m managing a set of Samsung tablets in Hexnode and want to use the remote Power Off action. How do I enable this feature so admins can shut down the tablets from the portal?

Hi @r_foster ,

To use the remote Power Off action on Samsung tablets, the devices must support Samsung Knox and have a Knox Platform for Enterprise (KPE) Premium license configured in Hexnode UEM.

Set it up as follows:

  1. In the Hexnode UEM portal, go to Policies.
  2. Create a new policy or edit an existing policy assigned to the Samsung tablets.
  3. Navigate to Admin > Knox Platform for Enterprise.
  4. Add the KPE Premium license key and click Add.
  5. Save the policy and associate it with the target Samsung tablets.
  6. Make sure the devices are actively enrolled and have received the policy.

After the policy is applied, go to Manage, select the Samsung tablet, open Actions > Device Control, and choose Power off device.

If the KPE Premium license is not added, the remote power-off capability will not be available for the Samsung devices.

Does this work for any Android tablet, or only Samsung models? We have a mix of devices and I only see the option on some of them.

The Power Off action in this context is specific to supported Samsung Knox devices. For Samsung tablets, Hexnode UEM relies on Knox Platform for Enterprise capabilities, so a KPE Premium license is required.

For non-Samsung Android devices, the same Knox-based remote power-off feature will not apply. Availability can also vary depending on the Samsung device model, Knox support, enrollment status, and whether the KPE policy has successfully reached the device.
