Create a Hexnode dashboard view for a specific device groupSolved

Is there a way to make Hexnode show only the devices from one specific device group in the dashboard? I want the person monitoring those devices to see details like device uptime, usage, and also be able to start remote view for those devices without seeing the rest of the portal devices.

I was thinking of creating a separate dashboard for that group, but I’m not sure what the correct setup is or whether it needs a separate technician account.

You can handle this by creating a technician account with access scoped only to the required device group.

This does not create a separate custom dashboard widget layout, but it restricts what that technician can see in the portal. When the technician signs in, the device lists and available actions will be limited to the device group assigned in their scope. From there, they can view device details such as uptime and usage information and initiate supported remote actions like remote view for devices within that group.

To configure this:

1. Go to Admin > Technicians and Roles > Roles.

2. Create a role with the permissions required for monitoring and remote management.

3. Go to the Profiles tab and create a new technician profile.

4. Assign the custom role to the profile.

5. In the Scope section of the profile, select only the required device group.

6. Save the profile.

7. Go to the Technicians tab and create a technician.

8. Assign the newly created profile to that technician.

After this, the technician’s portal access will be limited to the selected group, making it easier to monitor and manage only those devices.
