Cannot create Hexnode technician account with Gmail: "Please enter your work email!"Solved

Hexnode does not allow creating new technician accounts with generic consumer email addresses such as Gmail, Yahoo, or similar personal email domains.

To create a new technician account, the email address must be a valid work email associated with an organization or business domain. This requirement is used to strengthen administrative access controls and reduce the risk of unauthorized access to the portal.

For external freelancers or contractors, you can add them as technicians if they use a professional email address from their own registered business domain. They do not necessarily need to use your organization’s domain, but the address should not be from a generic consumer email provider.

So existing technicians who already use Gmail can still access the portal, but I just can’t create new technician accounts with Gmail anymore?

Correct. Existing technician accounts that were already created and verified with Gmail or similar addresses are not blocked or removed. They can continue signing in and using Hexnode as before.

The work-email validation applies only when creating a brand-new technician profile. If you need to add a new external technician now, use a professional domain email address for that user.

That clears it up. We’ll ask new external technicians to provide a business-domain email instead of a personal Gmail account.
