Hi all. We’ve got a bunch of Linux devices in our computer lab, and one of our enterprise apps just got an update. Is there a way to push that new version out to all devices at once using Hexnode?

Hi @annemie . Thanks for reaching out to Hexnode.
Yes, Hexnode can push enterprise app updates to Linux devices. You can do this in two ways:

  1. Install Application (remote action)
    • For this method, you’ll need to add the updated version of the app to Hexnode App Inventory first.
    • Once added, go to Manage > select the devices/device groups > Actions > Install Application > select the app.
  2. Required Apps policy

For this method, navigate to the Apps tab > choose the enterprise app you want to update > select Edit from Settings > replace the DEB/ RPM file with the updated file.

Both methods ensure your devices receive the latest version.

If you need more details on the setup, feel free to reach out.

Thank you @isabel_lora . Will the devices get a prompt to install/update the app?

No, once you execute the deployment, the app installs/updates silently in the background.

There’s no user prompt or manual confirmation needed, so your users won’t be interrupted, and the process is completely seamless.
