Hi @mees,
This message is actually triggered by Android’s native security framework (introduced in Android 13). If an app is installed outside of a traditional store flow or flagged by the OS as requiring restricted permissions, Android automatically blocks access to sensitive settings like Accessibility to protect the device.
Fortunately, you can manually override this block to allow Hexnode Remote Assist to function. Here are the steps:
- When the “Restricted settings” dialog appears, tap OK to dismiss it. (This step is necessary to trigger the override option).
- Open the Settings app on the Android device.
- Go to Apps and select the Hexnode Remote Assist app.
- On the App Info page, tap the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top-right corner.
- Select Allow restricted settings. (You may need to verify with the device PIN/passcode).
- Go back to your device’s Accessibility settings and enable the required permission for Hexnode Remote Assist.
Once the restricted settings are allowed and the accessibility permission is granted, your remote control sessions should work normally!
Please let me know if you do not see the three-dot menu or need further assistance.
Best regards,
Eden Pierce
