We have Zebra Android devices managed in Hexnode, and some of them keep rotating sideways when users move the device. We need the devices to stay vertical/portrait all the time. Is there a policy setting in Hexnode to lock the screen orientation to portrait mode?

Yes @melora. You can lock the screen orientation to portrait mode using an Android Restrictions policy in Hexnode.

Steps:

  1. Go to Policies.
  2. Open the policy associated with the Zebra Android devices.
  3. Click Manage > Modify.
  4. Navigate to Android > Restrictions > Basic > Allow Device Functionality.
  5. Under Screen Orientation, select Portrait.
  6. Click Save to apply the policy.

Once the policy is applied and the device syncs with Hexnode, the screen should remain locked in portrait orientation.

This also worked for us on Zebra handhelds in kiosk mode. Just make sure the correct policy is associated with the device and that the device has checked in after saving the change.
