Android Remote View app not acknowledged and stuck on Initiated in HexnodeSolved

I’m trying to use Remote View on two Android devices from Hexnode. The portal said Remote View needed to be installed, so I installed it, but Hexnode still didn’t acknowledge the app on the device. When I tried installing the Remote View app again from Actions > Install application, the status stayed on “Initiated” and didn’t move forward. The device had checked in recently, so it didn’t seem like a connectivity issue. What should I try next?

If the Android device has checked in recently but the Remote View app installation remains stuck at “Initiated,” the issue may be with the Google Play Store app’s cached install state on the device.

Try the following steps:

  1. Go to Manage > Devices and open the affected Android device.
  2. Run the Scan Device action and confirm that the device has checked in recently.
  3. If the device is online but the app install is still stuck, go to Actions > Clear app data.
  4. Select Google Play Store and execute the action.
  5. Once the Clear app data action succeeds, run Scan for apps on the device
  6.  Check whether the Remote View app is now detected and acknowledged.

Clearing the Play Store app data can refresh the app installation state and allow Hexnode to detect the Remote View app correctly during the next app scan.

Clearing the Play Store app data and then running Scan for apps fixed it on one of the devices. The Remote View app is now acknowledged there. I’m going to repeat the same steps on the second Android device.
