Hello,
Thanks for reaching out to Hexnode Connect.
Yes, when you use the Disenroll device action, Hexnode sends a command to the device. The message “action execution is activated” indicates the command has been initiated from the portal, but the device must be powered on and connected to the internet to receive and process it. If a device is offline, retired, or no longer communicating, the command will remain pending indefinitely.
Fortunately, you do not need to power on every old device to clean up your portal. For unreachable devices, you can manually force the removal:
- Go to the Reports tab in your Hexnode console.
- Open the Disenrollment Pending Devices report.
- Check the boxes next to the old devices that are no longer active.
- Click on Actions > Mark as Disenrolled.
This will clear the pending disenrollment entry and immediately remove those devices from your active managed device list.
I hope this helps you clean up your portal efficiently. Feel free to reach out if you have any more doubts or need further assistance.
Best regards,
George,
