Disable Battery Optimization shows “not available” during Android Enterprise enrollment on Urovo DT66Solved

I’m enrolling a Urovo DT66 scanner running Android 13 as an Android Enterprise Device Owner. On the required permissions page, Hexnode asks me to enable “Disable Battery Optimization.”

When I search for Hexnode in the battery optimization settings, it says battery optimization is not available. Because of that, I thought I couldn’t continue with enrollment.

Is this something that has to be enabled manually on Urovo devices, or is there another way to get past this step?

Hi @liam_t,

This behavior can occur on some device-specific Android builds.

On certain rugged devices and customized Android 13 builds, including some Urovo models, the operating system does not expose the battery optimization setting for third-party apps. In that case, searching for Hexnode in the battery optimization screen may show the permission as unavailable.

This does not necessarily mean the Android Enterprise – Device Owner enrollment has failed. If the “Disable Battery Optimization” permission is not available on the device, you can skip that specific permission prompt and continue with enrollment.

After skipping it, verify that the other required permissions shown during enrollment are enabled. Once the remaining permissions are granted, the Device Owner enrollment should proceed normally.
