Hi @clauss,
To deploy a web app to an iPad, you must first add it as a Web App in Hexnode and then push it through an iOS Web Clip policy.
Use these steps:
- Go to Apps > Add App > Web App.
- Enter the web app name, URL, icon, and other required details.
- Save the web app to the app repository.
- Go to Policies and either open an existing policy or create a new one.
- Navigate to iOS > Web Clip and click Configure.
- Add the web app to the Web Clip policy.
- Go to Policy Targets and assign the policy to the required iPad or device group.
- Save the policy.
If an Allowlist policy is configured on the iPad, the Web Clip must also be added to the allowlist. Otherwise, the web app may be deployed but hidden or restricted on the device. Check the policy applied to the iPad and review the Blocklist/Allowlist section. If Allowlist is enabled, add the web app/Web Clip there as well, then save the policy and allow the device to sync.
For the other iPad, being listed in Apple Business Manager does not automatically mean it is enrolled. It has likely been assigned to an MDM server but has not completed Automated Device Enrollment into Hexnode yet.
To enroll it:
- In Apple Business Manager, go to Devices.
- Select the iPad.
- Confirm that it is assigned to the correct Hexnode MDM server using Assign Device Management.
- In the Hexnode UEM portal, go to Admin > Apple Business Manager > Automated Device Enrollment > Devices.
- Click Sync.
- Search for the iPad in the synced device list.
- Once the device appears there, factory reset the iPad.
- On the iPad, choose Erase All Content and Settings. (If the device has an eSIM, keeping or removing the eSIM during erase depends on whether you want to retain the cellular plan on that device).
During setup, the iPad should go through Automated Device Enrollment and then appear in Hexnode under the Manage tab.
Please let me know if you run into any further issues while syncing or deploying the application!
