Will Google Workspace user sync filters remove device associations in Hexnode?Solved

I’m planning to test a Google Workspace/G Suite user sync filter in Hexnode. If the filter accidentally excludes users that are currently assigned to devices, what happens when the sync runs?

Will those users lose their device associations or assigned policies? And if I remove the filter later and sync again, will the users reconnect to their existing devices?

Filtering users out through a Google Workspace user sync filter will not erase their existing device associations in Hexnode.

When a synced user is excluded by the filter, Hexnode does not immediately delete the user record, device association, or assigned policy data. The user is treated as un-synced or inactive from the directory sync perspective, while the associated devices and existing management state remain intact.

If the filter is removed and the user is included again in a later sync, Hexnode maps the directory user back to the existing user profile. The device associations and assigned policies should remain available without data loss or disruption to device management.
