does hexnode send Apns certificate and Vpp token expiry email alerts?Solved

We manage Apple devices in Hexnode and renew APNs certificates and Vpp tokens before they actually expire. Because of that, the renewal dates in our internal tracking system keep shifting earlier over time and can become outdated.

Does Hexnode automatically send email notifications when the APNs certificate or apple Vpp token is nearing expiry? Also, is there any built-in integration with external documentation/monitoring tools for certificate renewal tracking?

Hi @mike_johnson,

Yes, Hexnode automatically sends email notifications to administrators before both the Apple Push Notification service (APNs) certificate and Apple Volume Purchase Program (VPP) tokens expire!

If you want to set up email filtering or routing to an external system, you can look for these exact subject lines:

  • Apple Push Notification Service – Expiry Alert
  • Apple Volume Purchase Program – Token Expiry Alert

While Hexnode does not currently provide a direct integration with external documentation or certificate tracking platforms, the best workaround is to configure your internal ticketing or documentation system to route or parse these native Hexnode expiry alert emails using the subject lines above.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance managing your Apple certificates!

We ran into something similar a while back. The emails were coming through, but they were getting buried because our system treated them as generic Apple or mdm alerts. Creating strict mailbox rules based on those exact Apns and Vpp expiry alert subjects made it much easier for our team to track upcoming renewals.

Hi @rose-wilson

Exactly! If you are tracking certificate dates across multiple internal systems separately, relying on those native Hexnode alert emails is usually the most dependable failsafe.

Using those specific subject lines to trigger internal tickets or auto-forward alerts ensures your infrastructure team never misses a renewal window, even when manual tracking dates drift.

Please let me know if there are any other specific alert types you are looking to route!
