I’ve applied a kiosk policy to my Windows device through Hexnode UEM, and now the device is locked down in kiosk mode. How can I exit kiosk mode when I need to, and is it possible to use remote view while the device is in kiosk mode?

Thanks for raising the question.

  1. To exit kiosk mode on Windows devices, you have two main options:

  • From the Hexnode UEM portal:

  • Disassociate the device/user/group from the kiosk policy under Policies → Policy Targets.

  • Or remove the kiosk policy directly from the device/user/group under Manage → Devices/Users/Groups.

  • Alternatively, archive the kiosk policy, which automatically disassociates it from all devices.

  • Directly on the device:

  • Press Ctrl + Alt + Del and sign out of the kiosk account.

  • In multi-app kiosk mode, you can also sign out from the Start menu by clicking the user icon. (This option isn’t available in single-app kiosk mode.

  1. Regarding your second question on remote view in kiosk mode:

In multi-app kiosk, remote view is possible, but you must add Hexnode UEM and the Hexnode Remote Assist App as background apps in the kiosk configuration for it to work.
