Hi,
Welcome to Hexnode Connect!
That’s a very common enterprise use case. Fortunately, you can entirely automate this using Hexnode’s Automations feature. You can essentially take the exact “Remove File” action you’ve been using and schedule it to run automatically without any manual intervention.
Here is how you can set it up to run on the 1st of every month:
- Navigate to the Automate tab in your Hexnode UEM portal and click on + Create Automation.
- Give your automation a clear name (like “Monthly Promo File Cleanup”) and an optional description.
- Under the Action section, select Deploy/Remove files.
- Choose the Remove Files option. Here, you will need to enter the exact full file path, including the file name, of the content you wish to delete. (Note: You can specify multiple paths if you have multiple videos or PDFs to remove).
- Click Next to move to the Settings and Schedule page.
- Under the schedule settings, set Initiate to Repeat on a set schedule.
- Choose the Monthly sub-option, specify the 1st day of the month, and pick your preferred time zone and execution time (HH/MM).
- Click Next to apply your target filters (like your specific device groups for field agents), review your configurations, and hit Save.
Just a quick heads-up on file paths: Make sure the file paths you input are perfectly accurate. When pushing files, macOS and Android Enterprise have fallback directories if a path is invalid, but for removing a file, the system needs the exact location to successfully execute the wipe!
Let me know if you run into any hurdles setting this up. Happy to help!
Best regards,
George
