Hey guys!

I have several iPhones currently running iOS 18.6.2 that need to be upgraded to iOS 26.3.

I first tried updating them through the Automate tab, but that didn’t work. When I attempted to update them manually, I noticed there’s no update OS option available in the Actions menu.

Has anyone encountered this?

If the option is completely missing, 9/10 times it’s supervision. Are you sure all devices are supervised?

They should be. We enroll everything supervised.

Hi @amelia,

Please note that the Update OS action is available only for supervised iOS devices.

A few additional points to keep in mind:

  • Prior to iOS 10.3, supervised devices must be enrolled via ADE.
  • For iOS 10.3 and later, devices must be supervised, but ADE enrollment is not mandatory.
  • Updates will not install if the battery level is below 50%, unless the device is plugged in.

Could you confirm whether all the affected devices are supervised?

It looks like this particular batch of devices isn’t actually supervised.

Hello,

Yes, that would explain it.

If the device is not supervised, the Update OS action will not appear in the Actions menu.

You may need to re-enroll the device with supervision enabled to use the OS update action.
