Hey folks — quick question. How do you onboard a Samsung Galaxy device into Hexnode?
For Apple, we use Apple Business Manager and Apple Configurator. What’s the Samsung Galaxy version of that setup?

Hi @diane_ !
For Android devices, including Samsung Galaxy, Hexnode supports enrollment using Android Enterprise.
The recommended approach is Device Owner enrollment, which offers granular control over the device, similar to Apple Business Manager. With this method, Hexnode manages the device right from the initial setup screen.
You can find the complete step-by-step process here:
How to Enroll Android Devices as Device Owner via Hexnode UEM.
If you require any further assistance during the setup process, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

So… does this mean the phone needs to be fresh out of the box, or can I do this on a phone that someone’s already been “testing” for six months? 😅
Short answer: fresh start.
Long answer: Yes, it needs a factory reset. Device Owner only works during initial setup.
If the device is already in use, you’ll have to wipe it and start over. No shortcuts, unfortunately.
Is this a Samsung-only thing, or will my random Android phones also behave?
Not just Samsung. Most Android devices that support Android Enterprise will work.
Samsung’s nice because of Knox, but the enrollment flow itself isn’t exclusive. Think of Samsung as “Android, but with bonus features.” 😄
