Restrict printer sharingSolved

Hi, I’m facing the same issue. We attempted a few macOS restrictions, but printer sharing still seems to be accessible for some users, especially those with admin privileges. I tried reviewing the available policy options, but I couldn’t find a clear way to completely block printer sharing. Any guidance would be appreciated.

To restrict printer sharing on macOS devices, you can configure the following setting in Hexnode UEM:

Navigate to Policies > macOS > Advanced Restrictions and disable the option “Users can modify Printer Sharing settings.”

Even if users have local administrative privileges on their Mac devices, this restriction will prevent them from enabling or modifying printer sharing settings. Please note that this policy does not block users from printing documents—it only restricts their ability to share printers with other devices on the network.

After applying the policy, ensure it is properly associated with the target devices and allow some time for the policy to sync.

I followed the same steps and can confirm that it worked on our end. Users can still print normally, but they can’t share printers anymore. That’s exactly what we needed.
