Hey folks, I’m having an issue with geolocation on one of our iPads. The location just won’t update. When I checked on the device, it showed an error saying the location tracking feature is disabled via policy. Anyone run into this before?

Hey there!
Here are a few checks that can help pinpoint the cause of the issue:
- Hexnode UEM app installed – The app needs to be on the device for location tracking.
- Internet connectivity – Ensure the iPad is online so it can send location updates.
- Location Services – On the device, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services. For the Hexnode app, make sure the permission is set to Always.
- Policy configuration – Check the applied policy and confirm Location Tracking is enabled and the update interval is configured correctly.
- Sync the Hexnode app – After any changes, open the Hexnode app and tap Sync to push updated settings.
Try these and let us know what you find!
Best Regards,
Isabel Lora

Jumping in here — if you’re on iOS 26, Apple moved some of the privacy menus around. The Location Services path looks a bit different now, so you might have missed the option for setting the Hexnode app to “Always.” Worth double-checking!

Ah, that might be it! Yep, the device is on iOS 26. I’ll check the new location settings path and update the permission. Thanks!
