Add a Safari web clip to iPad home screen in Multi-App KioskSolved

I’m trying to add a Safari shortcut/web clip to the home screen of an iPad that is in Multi-App Kiosk mode. Safari is already included in the kiosk app lockdown policy, but the shortcut does not appear on the home screen when I try to add it. Is there an extra setting needed for web clips to show up in kiosk mode?

Hi @remi,

This can be done by deploying the shortcut as a Web App/Web Clip and then allowing it in the Multi-App Kiosk policy along with Safari.

Try the following configuration:

  1. On the Hexnode UEM portal, navigate to Apps > Local Apps > + Add Apps.
  2. Select Web App.
  3. Enter the web app name and URL, then upload an icon. This icon is what appears on the iPad home screen.
  4. Save the web app.

Then add it to the policy:

  1. On the Hexnode UEM console, open the existing kiosk policy.
  2. Go to iOS > App Management > Web Clips and add the created web clip.
  3. Go to iOS Kiosk Lockdown > Multi App.
  4. Add both the Web Clip and Safari to the Multi-App Kiosk configuration.
  5. Save the policy and associate it with the target iPad.

Safari should remain included because the web clip opens through Safari on iOS. After the policy is applied successfully, the web clip icon should appear on the home screen.
