Thank you for reaching out! If the Wipe action isn’t being accepted even when no restriction policies are in place, it could be due to a missing or disabled Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) on the device.
Here’s how you can verify and fix this.
Check if the PC Reset option is available:
On the Windows device, go to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery.
See if you can find and access the Reset this PC option.
- If Reset is available: Try performing the Wipe action again from the Hexnode portal.
- If Reset is unavailable or fails: Follow the steps below on the device end.
- Open Command Prompt (Run as Administrator).
- Type the following command to check WinRE status:
- If the status shows as Disabled, enable WinRE by typing:
Once you’ve re-enabled the Windows Recovery Environment, try executing the Wipe action again from the Hexnode portal.
