I’m setting up enrollment for a Windows device in Hexnode and wanted to use No authentication. When I switch the enrollment authentication setting from Enforce authentication to No authentication, I can’t save the change. It only seems to save when authentication is enforced.
Windows enrollment with No authentication settings not savingSolved

Hello @mike_johnson ,
For Windows enrollment with No authentication, Hexnode UEM requires a default user to be selected before the enrollment settings can be saved.
Try the following:
- Go to the enrollment settings in the Hexnode UEM portal.
- Set Authentication to No authentication.
- Select a Default user for enrollment.
- Scroll to Enrollment Restrictions and make sure Windows enrollment is enabled.
- Save the settings.
The default user is used to associate devices enrolled without user authentication. Once this is selected, the No authentication setting should save successfully.

Selecting a default user did the trick. One more thing to ask, should I send the user a QR code for enrolling the Windows device, or is there another method? I tried sending an enrollment link earlier, but the user said they didn’t receive anything.
For Windows devices, a QR code is not required for enrollment through this method.
Ask the user to open the account-specific enrollment URL directly on the Windows device that needs to be enrolled: “https://<portal name>.hexnodemdm.com/enroll/”
From there, the user can download the Hexnode installer app and run it on the Windows device. The installer completes the enrollment based on the enrollment settings configured in the portal.
Since No authentication is enabled, the user should not be asked to sign in or create an account during enrollment. The device will be assigned to the default user selected in the enrollment settings.
