The tablet that we are using for a kiosk does not have a physically accessible volume control. It would be great to have a volume slider – similar to the screen brightness slider.

Hi Darrin,

Happy to hear from you!

Seems like we do have a feature to meet your use case. If the volume button is not disabled within Policies > Kiosk lockdown > Android Kiosk lockdown > Peripheral Settings > Disable Volume buttons, you can use the native volume button within the device to adjust the volume within the device end.

When the option ‘Disable Volume button’ is enabled, the volume button within the device would get disabled, however, you can set the required value for the ring volume level and music volume level from the Hexnode console.

Here is how you can set the required volume:
Navigate to Policies > Kiosk lockdown > Android Kiosk lockdown > Peripheral Settings > select “Disable Volume buttons”. You would be presented with the below two options:

Volumebutton

You can drag the slider to set the required level or enter the required volume level in the textbox provided.

Please let us know your feedback on the same. We hope the above-mentioned configuration helps you to achieve the use case.

Also, a feature request can be raised for having the volume slider within the Peripheral settings so that the same appears in the end-user device. This allows them to drag the slider to set the required volume level via the Peripheral settings eliminating the need to access the native volume button in the device.  Kindly share your thoughts.

Cheers!
