If the portal is accessible, the standard method is to disenroll the devices from the old Hexnode portal:
1. Go to Manage > Devices.
2. Select the device.
3. Click Actions > Disenroll Device.
4. Enter the required portal password and confirm the action.
After the device is disenrolled, you can also update the device record from Reports > Inbuilt Reports, if required, so the device is reflected as disenrolled in the portal.
However, if the Hexnode license has expired and the portal only shows Go to Subscribe, the device management pages may be blocked. Editing page elements in the browser will not bypass this because the license validation happens on the server side.
For a Mac, if the MDM profile is locally removable, sign in with a local administrator account and remove the MDM profile from System Settings. If the Mac user is a standard account, promoting that account to an administrator can allow removal of a removable MDM profile. Once the profile is removed, the Mac can be enrolled into the new Hexnode environment.
For an iPhone, check Settings > General > VPN & Device Management. If Remove Management is available, the profile can be removed from the device. If the MDM profile was configured as non-removable, the device must be disenrolled from the old portal after regaining administrative access to it, or handled according to the organization’s supervised device recovery process.
