Unable to reinstall Hexnode app after accidental removal during Android enrollmentSolved

During Android device setup, the Hexnode app was accidentally removed while the permission setup wizard was still in progress. The device was reset afterward, but the app still would not install/enroll again properly. The device still seemed to appear in Hexnode reports, so it looked like the first enrollment attempt had not fully cleared. What is the right way to retry enrollment after the Hexnode app is removed midway through setup?

If the Hexnode app is removed before the initial setup and permission prompts are completed, the device may remain in a stale or pending enrollment state in the Hexnode portal.

A device reset alone may not always clear the existing device record from the portal. To retry enrollment cleanly:

  1. Open the Hexnode UEM portal.
  2. Go to Manage > Devices, or check the Reports section if the device appears there.
  3. Locate the old or pending device record.
  4. Disenroll the device record from Hexnode.
  5. Start the enrollment again on the Android device using your usual enrollment method.
  6. Complete the Hexnode setup wizard fully and grant the required permissions before closing the wizard or making changes to the app.

Disenrolling the stale device record clears the pending enrollment status and allows the device to enroll again without being blocked by the previous failed setup attempt.
