Wanna lock up a mac device for a certain time period?, we got it covered.

With our new add on, you can now Lock down a mac for a particular time period.

This is how it is done:
1. Navigate to the Policies tab.
2. Create a New Policy or edit an existing policy.
3. Click on macOS Settings.
4. Click on the Time Limit tab situated on the sidebar.
5. You can set duration to allow access to the device during Weekdays and Weekends.
6. You can also set a duration to prevent a user from using the device for a certain interval by setting the time next to prevent access from.
7. One the intervals are set, Click Save.

What if the time zone set in the device is different that the one that the admin follows? What will be taken to effect?

Hey, Thanks for reaching out to us.

The device will be locked down based on the time zone set on the device.
The time limit is set in the policy according to the 24-hour clock. So, if you set the time limit between 14:00 to 15:00, the user will be locked out of the device when the time is 14:00 as per the device time zone.

Please check out our help doc on restricting user login time for more info.

Hope this helps!

Cheers!

What if the device is being used at that time? Will that power off the device?

Hey, Thanks for reaching out to us.

Yes, the user will be logged out automatically, even if the device is in use.
Please note that the admin can override the policy to restrict the user login time on Mac devices. When the login time expires, a pop-up appears saying ‘Computer Time Expired’. The admin will be able to set additional time by entering the username and password. The time limit policy will come into effect only after the time extension provided by the admin is up.
