We have upgraded and renamed the Windows Wallpaper policy to Display Settings, which now features screen orientation controls as well.

In addition to managing desktop and lockscreen wallpapers, you can now enforce specific screen orientations across your managed devices. This prevents accidental or unauthorized screen rotation, ensuring a seamless and uninterrupted experience for fixed-purpose devices such as digital signage, POS systems, and self-service kiosks.

New options include:

  • Screen Orientation Lock: You can now lock the display to your required layout. The dropdown menu includes: User can choose, Landscape, Portrait, Inverted Landscape, and Inverted Portrait.

  • External Display Sync: Enable the new “Apply to connected external display(s)” toggle to automatically enforce your selected orientation onto any secondary monitors connected to the primary device.

For more information, check out our help documentation on Display Settings on Windows.
