iOS SIM phone number not showing in Hexnode device detailsSolved

Hi everyone. Some of our enrolled iPhones are not showing the SIM phone number in Hexnode. The devices are enrolled and otherwise reporting inventory details correctly, but the phone number field is blank for a few users.

Is there anything specific on iOS that needs to be checked for Hexnode to read the number?

Hello,

Thanks for reaching out to Hexnode Connect.

Yes, that is exactly what is happening. Hexnode can only display the phone number if iOS reports it as part of the system’s device information. If the number is not registered locally on the iPhone itself, Hexnode cannot fetch or populate it in the device details.

To resolve this on the affected iPhones, you can manually update it by following these steps:

  1. Make sure the physical SIM is active and properly inserted.
  2. On the iPhone, go to Settings > Phone > My Number.
  3. If the field is blank or incorrect, manually enter the correct phone number and save it.
  4. Once the number is available on the iPhone, run a Scan Device action from the Hexnode portal (or wait for the next scheduled sync).

The updated phone number should then be successfully fetched and displayed in your device inventory.

I hope this helps or resolves your issue. Feel free to reach out if you have any more doubts or need further assistance.

Best regards,
