We have a few supervised Apple devices managed through Hexnode. If I disenroll an iPhone or iPad from Hexnode, will the Hexnode app and management profile be removed automatically, or do I need to remove them manually on each device?
Also, if the device is assigned in Apple Business Manager, is removing it from ABM enough to make it a personal device, or does the device need to be reset too?

For supervised iPhones and iPads, disenrolling the device from Hexnode UEM removes the Hexnode management profile and the Hexnode UEM app from the device.
However, disenrollment alone does not remove supervision. If the device was supervised through Apple Business, it can remain supervised even after the Hexnode profile is removed.
To fully convert the device to a personal, unmanaged device, follow this order:
After the reset, the device can be set up as a personal device and should not re-enroll into MDM during setup.
