Hexnode UEM app missing on supervised iOS device after re-enrollmentSolved

A supervised iOS device was re-added to Hexnode after being removed earlier to free up a license. The device shows as compliant and has received the required apps, but the Hexnode UEM app itself is not appearing on the phone.

I already tried Scan Device and Scan Apps. In Action History, the Hexnode UEM install did not seem to complete. When I tried installing it manually from the App Store, the managed install still did not show up as expected.

Has anyone seen this after re-enrolling an iPhone or after purchasing additional Apple VPP licenses?

Hello @mortimer ,

For supervised iOS devices, the Hexnode UEM app is installed through Apple VPP. If the app is not appearing even though the device is enrolled and compliant, first check whether a VPP license is available for the Hexnode UEM app.

You can verify this in Hexnode UEM from:

  1. Go to Apps > Local Apps.
  2. Search for Hexnode UEM.
  3. Check the License Type column for the available VPP license count.

If new licenses were recently purchased, sync Apple VPP before retrying the install:

  1. Go to Admin > Apple Business/School Manager > Apple VPP.
  2. Click Sync in the top-right corner.
  3. Confirm that the sync status shows Success.

After the sync, go to Manage > Endpoints > select the iOS device > Device Summary > Enrollment details. If Hexnode Agent app installed shows No, use the trigger icon next to it to initiate the installation again. Then check Action History for the Install Application status.

If the installation continues to fail, restart the iOS device and initiate another Apple VPP sync. Once the VPP sync succeeds, Hexnode should be able to retrieve the license and complete the managed app installation.
