Hi everyone. I’m managing a macOS device in Hexnode and want to confirm whether the Time Machine application is currently allowed or blocked by policy on that device. Where in the Hexnode console can I check the application status for Time Machine, and what do the different status values mean?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Hexnode Connect!

You can verify whether Time Machine is allowed or restricted directly from the device’s application inventory within your Hexnode console.

Here is the exact path to check its status:

  1. Navigate to Manage > Devices and select your macOS device.
  2. Open the Device Summary page and go to the Applications sub-tab.
  3. If the Status column is not visible, click the pencil icon near the table settings and enable Status / Application Status.
  4. Search for Time Machine in the search bar.

Once located, review the value shown in the Status column:

  • Blocked: The application is restricted by an applied policy.
  • Installed: The application is present on the device and is not being blocked by any active app policy.
  • Pending: The application status is currently being evaluated or updated.

(Note: If Time Machine does not appear in the list at all, it means it has not yet been reported in the device inventory or monitored by an app policy).

Best regards,
