Hi,

I need to factory reset one of my Android devices, but I want to make sure I don’t lose the Agent app and its data. Is there a way to do this? Any tips or steps anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hello @finn Unfortunately, I don’t think it is possible to factory reset your Android device without losing the data from the Agent app. A factory reset typically wipes all user data, including app information. You might want to consider backing up the app data first, if that option is available, or check if the app has a way to save your settings or data in the cloud. This way, you can restore it after the reset.

If your concern is to ensure that your device is protected in case it is lost or stolen after a factory reset, you may want to consider using Zero-Touch Enrollment for devices enrolled in Android Enterprise mode. This setup allows the agent app to be automatically reinstalled and configured after a reset, providing ongoing protection for your device.

As @wilma mentioned, Zero-Touch Enrollment would be the way to go to meet your requirement. Do check out our help documentation on Android Zero Touch Enrollment for detailed explanations and instructions on the same.
